EGG PRODUCTION IN TURKEY
Number of eggs produced in Turkey in January - November period to over 15 billion units, while the hens slaughtered rose to over 1 billion, according to the Poultry Production data, released by Turkish Statistical Institute, on Monday.
Seasonally and calendar adjusted hen egg production increased by 0.2 percent to 1.44 million units, compared to the previous month, representing 1.7 percent increase on annual basis.
With the November data, total eggs produced in 11-month period rose to 15.22 billion units, up from 15.05 billion in the same period of the year before, when total annual egg production was at 16.5 billion units.
According to the seasonally and calendar adjusted series; number of slaughtered chicken increased by 8.9 percent,chicken meat production increased by 6.5 percent compared to the previous month while number of slaughtered chicken increased by 14 percent and chicken meat production increased by 16.4 percent on annual basis.
Number of chicken slaughtered rose by 4.0 percent to 1.12 billion units in the January-November period, against the same period in 2013.
According to the seasonally and calendar adjusted series; number of slaughtered turkey decreased by 1.4 percent, turkey meat production decreased by 0.9 percent compared to the previous month, when the number of slaughtered turkey increased by 1.5 percent and turkey meat production increased by 5.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
